In this tutorial I will be creating and recording a beat in nearly real-time to demonstrate the powerful music creation capabilities of Propellerhead software’s popular Music Production Platform: Reason. The type of music we will be creating is a Hip-Hop beat. The main setup you will want to do beforehand is to choose the instruments that you will using for your production. Then setup a section to loop around, using the Left and Right Loop Markers and enabling Reason’s Loop function.
Although we will only be dealing with four instruments: Drums, Bass, Piano and a Synth lead, for the purposes of this tutorial, we will be focusing on getting up and running quickly and productively with just four instruments. Keep in mind that you can build much larger productions using these techniques as you get more comfortable with recording in Reason.
